Valentine's Gift Guide: Himalayan Salt Shop Natural Salt Lamp Review & Giveaway

Decorating our new cabin has been so much fun over the past months. We have all the mountain-themed decorations, including bears, welcome signs and more. When I saw the beautiful lamps on Himalayan Salt Shop, I knew I had to have one!

How Himalayan Salt Lamps Benefit You (from website)
  • These lamps are made of natural crystal salt mined from underground salt mines in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains
  • The beautiful orange-reddish Himalayan crystal salt is mounted on a wooden base
  • This crystal salt is hundreds of millions of years old and, as a result, has special properties and high mineral content
  • Heat from the bulb (in our lamps) or flame (in our candle holders) causes the salt to emit negative ions
  • These negative ions bond with the pollutants in the air (positive ions) and neutralize them
  • Also, the newly bonded ions become heavier and fall to the ground removing them from the air circulation
  • In addition, these negative ions combat electro-smog caused by electronic devices operating in the home
  • Symptoms from asthma, allergies, and other illnesses can also subside from the effects of these products
  • Concisely, these products cleanse the air naturally and are extremely beautiful

My Thoughts
After I read about the benefits of salt lamps, I couldn't wait to receive my Himalayan Mini Salt Lamp. I was expecting it to be small, but the lamp is a good size and weights about 4-5 pounds, too. The lamp was well-wrapped in the box and I carefully put them lamp together. The lamp is a beautiful off-white color when not on, but when plugged in, it gives the most remarkable glow!

I plugged in the salt lamp on our kitchen counter, but only for pictures. The Mini salt Lamp is recommended for smaller areas and protects an 8x8 area. My husband really wants to take the lamp to his office, but no way I am giving it up. I'm in love with this lamp so much that I'll probably end up buying several more for other rooms of the house. I am thinking this lamp will end up as a either a nightlight in the baby's room or in our guest bathroom. Either way, it looks beautiful when turned on, glowing against the pine wood panels of our home.

The Himalayan Salt Shop not only has a great selection of salt lamps, candle holders and other items, but the prices are incredibly affordable. I found out there is a shop in our town that sells salt lamps and they go for almost double the prices you will find at the Himalayan Salt Shop. As a Mama on a budget, I definitely watch my spending, but I know a good deal when I see one. These make such great presents for holidays and birthdays! The Himalayan Salt Lamp retails for $34.99, but you can buy it on sale now for only $19.99! What a great Valentine's Day gift idea, right?
