Valentine's Gift Guide: Entertain Like A Texas Gentleman Cookbook Review & Giveaway

I love my kitchen and all of my fun cooking accessories! My husband and I are always looking for new recipes to try and excuses to throw dinner parties. I own many, many cookbooks, but had never seen one  for men until recently. We received Entertain Like A Texas Gentleman, a cookbook by David Harap, to review and my husband was so excited to take a look. I was also excited because now he's going to cook me a special Valentine's Day dinner!

About Entertain Like a Texas Gentleman (from Amazon)
Knowing how to entertain for that special date or for a large crowd is the epitome of being a gentleman. There is no stronger way to impress someone than by showcasing your culinary skills. Bachelor Chef and culinary instructor David Harap has created a series of menus in Entertain Like A Texas Gentleman that any man can make his own. This book helps men create unforgettable meals for their guests without stress or needing years of cooking school. In addition to many exciting recipes for every occasion, that are tons of tips and secrets on how to become the ultimate host. Memorable meals made easy. The Texas edition included several Texas inspired recipes and is larger than the other books in this series becasue EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas.

My Thoughts
My husband doesn't like to admit it, but he loves cooking and entertaining. He enjoys watching cooking shows and has secretly entertained the thought of one day owning a restaurant. We aren't, by any means, chefs, and we often stick to southern dishes with which we are most familiar, but we do try to get out of our comfort zone occasionally and try some new and fun recipes, especially when having company over.
This well-written cookbook with not only great recipes, but suggestions for creating the perfect atmosphere for a variety of gatherings. Instead of just chips and dip at a Super Bowl party, why make some Tomatillo Guacamole Salsa with Homemade Chips that will leave your guests talking about your party for months? The recipes look absolutely delicious and are mostly made with common ingredients, making them easy to prepare.
Beginning with lists of what is most important to have stocked in the kitchen to the separated recipes and themed party ideas, How To Entertain Like A Texas Gentleman is easy to understand and helps even a novice grasp the concepts of cooking a delicious meal. Need some ideas for a romantic dinner or even your next pool party? There are many suggestions and recipes to make your mouth water just looking at them. Plus, you aren't given just main dishes or appetizers, there are recipes to make the entire gathering  great from start to finish. Unlike many other cookbooks, this one offers space for culinary notes so you can remember your own ideas and experiences. That's such a great idea!
As you can tell, this cookbook is a hit in our home. My husband has already planned a few meals from it, which makes me very happy! You can purchase your own copy of How To Entertain Like A Texas Gentleman for only $22.95 at Amazon.com

Probably a pork chop recipe I have. It involves bread crumbs with italian seasoning. Match it with mashed potatoes or twice baked potatoes. Mmm.

A good quality beef roast, especially in the winter. Its super easy to make, and tastes great, especially on a cold winter day.
