Start Saving For College Early With the Gerber Life College Plan & &25 Snapfish GC Giveaway

My parents were middle-class and struggled for many years to pay off our home, cars, and bills. For this reason, they weren't able to start saving for my college education. When I was in high school, the thought of not being able to afford college was very scary. I knew they couldn't afford it. Luckily, I was able to get a scholarship for classes, but I still had to work part-time to pay my rent and other bills. I enjoyed my college experience, but I know it could have been much  more laid back and I could have studied more if not working all the time. For this reason, I want to start saving early for my children.

With the Gerber Life College Plan, parents are able to put back a reasonable amount of money each month that will be paid out later when your child is going to college!  It's safe ans easy! The amount grows as you pay fixed monthly premiums. The program is flexible and includes life insurance protection. This is such a smart way to plan for your child's future and their own higher education. I know we all want the very best for our children and the Gerber Life College Plan definitely helps pave their way. This plan is different from the Grow Up Plan in that you will be saving for your child's college and future.

We're very lucky that my in-laws have already set up a college fund for our son. We're not in a position to contribute right now, but we definitely plan to once my husband's business picks up.

Dear Roxanne,

On behalf of Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), thank you for supporting Project Open Book. All the money raised through our partnership with Gerber Life helps us provide new books to the kids who need them most. In low-income neighborhoods in the U.S., there’s only one book for every 300 children. For many RIF kids, their RIF book is their only book.

Learn more about RIF and our efforts through our newsletter, Facebook and Twitter.
