My Thoughts

My sister-in-law had a baby shower recently so, I thought this would be the perfect time to debut our new game. The kids were so excited as soon as they saw a ball and couldn't wait for me to get it out of the box, put in the batteries (3 AAA) and let them play!

Now, let me just say, the box says 8+ years of age and I wondered why the age was so high. It is, after all, a bouncing game. As soon as I started hitting the ball and watching it fly across the room instead of straight up in the air, I learned why. This game definitely teaches hand-eye coordination and tests your reaction time, all of which I fail at miserably, apparently. I ran around the room, running into walls and trying to avoid breaking anything only to get a whopping 35 bounces. I was pleased until my husband announced he'd gotten the high score of 600. Needless to say, I wanted to bounce that ball across his head.

The kids under 8 gave the game a go, were just as unsuccessful as me, but we all had a blast running around like crazy. It's definitely a great indoor game, especially with all the recent rain and bad weather. When the adults saw us playing, they all wanted a turn, too. There are many different levels and games to play, just with the push of a button. We haven't tried all of them yet, but we definitely will.

Bop-It has definitely produced a hit with this new game! It will absolutely keep kids and adults occupied and would be great fun for a beach vacation, too. The more people playing, the more fun you will have laughing at each other and trying to beat each other's scores.

My Thoughts

I am very picky when it comes to my razors and only use those with 4 blades. I want to reduce the amount of time it takes to shave and I want my legs to be silky smooth when I'm finished. Oh, and did I mention I have very sensitive skin that easily breaks out and gets irritated. Schick Intuition Naturals Sensitive Care has definitely won me over for many reasons.

My Experience

To put Microsoft One Note 2010 to the test, I created a TripBook for a 24-hour trip to Amsterdam, NL! It's one of my very favorite places to visit and I wanted to show just how easy it could be to not only organize information for the trip, but to plan out an itinerary with OneNote. I immediately realized how easy it would be to not only organize information, but to make my TripBook look nice and professional just by the click of a few buttons!

The first thing I did was find a little information on Amsterdam. The great thing about OneNote was that it added an option on my toolbar within IE to automatically take information I wanted from a website directly to my TripBook! Can you imagine just  how much time that saves by not having to cut, paste, and edit each little part? You can also add pictures and videos this way! I was able to compile my trip ideas, from hotels and B&Bs to restaurants and museums, very easily so I could review options and decide which I wanted to stick with in the end.

Having never worked with Microsoft OneNote, I was worried about my ability to figure it out, but it was very simple. I don't think I am very tech savvy, but I had no issues figuring it out and having fun with all the features. I started out looking at my TripBook as a job, but, by the end, I was adding in all kinds of features, like videos, pictures, and even drawing, just because it was so easy and fun! I could not only link text to other websites, but I could also link text to other pages within my TripBook. That was an awesome feature and made it much easier for me to reference corresponding information!

I loved working with Microsoft OneNote 2010 and highly recommend the program. It's so user-friendly and helped me plan an educational, fun 24-hour trip to Amsterdam in a way no other program could.

Born Free Eco-Friendly Bottles Review & Giveaway (US and Canada)

In 2007, Josiah was born and little was ever mentioned about BPA, but only a year later we heard more and more about the dangers associated with BPA. Now, many baby products, especially bottles are BPA-free and we definitely wanted safer options for Liam.We did our research and decided upon Born Free products.

My Thoughts

We are such Born Free fans, I couldn't wait to actually do this review. Most of our bottles are glass, though they are also available in plastic. I was a little worried about going glass, but none of them have ever broken or even cracked! Since Liam was breastfed in the beginning, we wanted a bottle that would mimic Mama and the Born Free nipples are perfect, too.

We have also purchased Born Free training cups for Josiah. That's when we learned that the training cup collars fit on the bottles and vice versa, which is wonderful and meant we could use them for both a bottle and cup. Wish I'd known that earlier because they do last forever! Plus, both of my boys have had awful ear infection issues and I really do believe the venting system works very well.

I received a Twin Pack of the 5oz. Eco-Friendly Bottles with size 2 nipples. I think the idea of being able to ship them back free of charge for recycling is wonderful. Hopefully it will inspire more people to take that extra step to send them back.

All of the Born Free bottles have been wonderful and, since Liam is still a little behind developmentally and taking a bottle, we are still using them!Some of cups are even older than Liam and still look new. I just love my Born Free, as you can tell, and I highly recommend them for all parents and parents-to-be!

Have a Blog? Make Some Money Writing Posts! SocialSpark Update #1

About a month or two ago, I wrote about a website I'd found called SocialSpark, which allows bloggers to write paid posts. I wasn't sure if it would pay out or how many write-ups I'd receive and promised to follow up with  more results so, here I am. Since March, I've been chosen to write 5 posts and have made no less than $15 a post and as much as $100. Yes, $100 for one post! I couldn't believe it.

10 Ways To Reuse Your Plastic Easter Eggs!

 I was just looking around facebook and found a link to an awesome post by TrashN2Tees about ways to reuse your plastic easter eggs! It made me think about other ways to make those once-yearly items useable year-round. Here are some great ideas!

10 Ways to Reuse Your Plastic Easter Eggs

1. Use The Plastic Eggs for Art Projects! It's time to put that creativity to good use. Make all sorts of animals using plastic eggs. What else can you make?
2. Use the eggs for a dinosaur excavation site with the kids. Can they find the hidden dinosaurs around the house, in the dirt, or in the sandbox? Fill the eggs with dinosaurs or other goodies!
3. Birthday party games- Hide the eggs in sandbox or even have an Easter egg hunt again! Kids don't care what time of year it is! An Easter egg hunt is always welcomed, especially when the eggs are filled with goodies. The upside? Other kids take the plastic eggs home. LOL!
4. Make them into air fresheners for smelly places. Poke a few holes in the top of the egg. Place pieces of old potpourri, artificial flowers, etc. inside the egg. Put a few drops of essential oils (lavender, tea tree oil or other oils with antimicrobial properties would be great) on the inside items, close egg and place in smelly area! I think a laundry basket would be perfect for this or in the trashcan. If you want to go all out, make air fresheners with gelatin.
5. Store small items inside of them! I love the idea TrashN2Tees had to place jewelry inside when traveling to keep from getting tangled. 
6. Travel-size ideas: make a small on-the-go sewing kit or even make your own lip gloss!
7. Donate the eggs to a church or another organization that can make use of the eggs. Some organizations use them each year for huge Easter egg hunts while others can use them for arts & crafts with kids! 
8. Fill the eggs with beans to make shakers for the kids! Be sure to glue the sides of the eggs together for this project because the beans can spill out all over the place and make a huuuge mess. Believe me. My friend Wanda uses her plastic bottles to make shakers for her granddaughter. 
9. Make them into coin carriers for your purse! I don't know how many times I've had to dig through my purse just to find a nickle or some pennies. This way you know exactly where your change is!
10. Surprise snack for little ones. Do you pack your children's lunchboxes? Surprise them with a special treat or snack using the plastic eggs! The kids will be delighted.

My Thoughts

I was so excited to receive my box full of Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels. They were packed nicely in an insulated cooler with cool packs to keep them cold during delivery, which I loved.  I received a variety of the stuffed pretzels, including:

Josiah immediately wanted a Pizza Pretzel, stuffed with cheese, tomato sauce, and topped with cheese and Italian spices! The pretzel was definitely a hit so, I had to try one, too. The box was gone within 24 hours. Next we went for the Grilled Cheese Pretzels and those were fabulous, too. Every single pretzel I tried was delicious, though I never even got a Chocolate Crumb pretzel because Josiah ate them all before I had a chance.

Although I love pretzels, I don't buy them very often because of the ingredients, which are usually not so good. What I love about Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels besides their commitment to the environment and their community, is that they only use all-natural ingredients and even have a line of gluten-free pretzels. Now we have a great snack option that's also delicious. Josiah keeps asking for more and, as I just found on their website, the pretzels are sold online and at many locations around the US, including Kroger, Target, and Earth Fare!

Now that I have children, I get so excited when any holiday comes around. It's so hard not to completely spoil them each time. My Thoughts

As soon as I looked around Personal Creations, I fell in love with everything. It was so difficult to decide what to order because I could imagine half of the items in my home or as something the kids would love! I decided on an Easter basket for Liam and a piece of personalized clothing for each of the boys, which was received only a few days after my order. I couldn't believe how fast it was shipped out!

The Easter basket has a blue and white polka dot liner with Liam's name stitched into it and is completely full of Easter bunny goodies like chocolates and even a stuffed bunny. It's so cute! Josiah had a fit over it and still says it's his. I also had to have the cute Infant Easter Long Johns. His name is printed on the back flap on his heiny along with the Easter bunny with his cute little ears perked up. I love this outfit, which would be cute for sleeping and going out, too. Both the basket and long johns are available in different colors and the long johns also come with a baby chick or lamb printed. All of them are adorable.

For Josiah, I let him pick out an Easter shirt. He picked an adorable Elmo shirt with his name on it. He was so excited and so was I because it was actually true to size. Many shirts I've ordered are smaller than they are supposed to be and he grows out of them much too quickly. This shirt is a little big, which is what I wanted because it will fit him next year, too! I ordered his shirt in blue, but it also comes in pink and white. He'll be wearing it this weekend to visit the Easter bunny.

I've already picked out more items I want to purchase from Personal Creations because I was so impressed with their prices, selection, and customer service. It's really been a while since I've found such reasonable prices for personalized items. The basket was on sale for $18.99, the Elmo shirt was only $12.99, and the long johns are $21.99! Coca-Cola, Cookouts, and Fun In The Stream

Growing up in Georgia, the summers are long, hot, and humid. I spent my summers traveling around to visit relatives with my Grandma, who refused to take interstates and only used backroads. My very favorite place to go was to my aunt and uncle's house in Dallas, GA. They lived on about 100 acres, surrounded by a river, mountains, trails, and all types of wild berries. Riding our 4-wheelers through the mountains, we felt like we were all along, on a deserted island and, most definitely, in our own little world.

The visits were wonderful, but there was something that made our trip worthwhile, something even more special than all the other days: our farewell dinner each year. After living in paradise for two weeks, we'd have the most amazing dinner ever. Well, not a 4-star or gourmet dinner by any standards, but a meal any child (or tomboy like me) would look forward to each year. We'd grill out in the streams that surrounded the sides of the house. Yes, in the streams, on sandbars, sat the grill, smoking away while we sat in our fold-out chairs in the shade, splashing our feet in the water. Watermelon would be placed under the water to keep it nice and chilled, BBQ chicken on the grill, homemade potato salad, baked beans (the real kind that are actually grilled), and the must-have by any red-blooded Georgian, Coca-Cola. Coke, yummy! To this day my mouth waters when I think about it. No cookout existed without the final touch. What made Coca-Cola so special? To this very day, there is something about the first taste of coke when poured into a glass over ice or the first sip out of the bottle/can. It's the most refreshing sip of all, especially after a long, hot day of playing in the sun, riding 4-wheelers, and picking blackberries. I'm not sure why, but I always associate Coca-Cola with watermelon and always have a cup when eating watermelon today.

When I think back to my childhood, I warmly remember those southern nights, walking through the cool river, in the shade of the trees. It's an amazing part of my life that nothing can even hold a candle to and Coca-Cola is a part of those memories. In 31 years of life, I cannot remember one time that we went without Coke in our home. It was on every grocery list and stockpiled in our storage room. It's something I associate with my wonderful Grandma, rest her soul, and all the wonderful times we spent together, traveling around the state.

Add Beautiful Lounge Chairs To Your Home

We are moving into a new home in a few months and I told my husband it's time to get rid of our well-used furniture. It's been through so much with our two children and I'd like to actually get something not only functional, but pretty and decorative. Who wouldn't?

My Review

This next product is one of my favorites! As someone who dyes my blonde hair a dark brown color, I'm constantly having to dye my hair to cover up the bright, blinding roots and strands of grey (eck!). A Mother's Day To Remember

Before I had children, I knew I wanted to be a Mama, but never could imagine what life would be like. Of course, I had celebrated Mother's Day before, but for my own Mom, not for me! What would be in store?

For my 1st mother's day, we all went out for a picnic. Josiah was not quite a year old at that point and enjoyed sitting in his Bumbo watching everything around him.
