Tiny Prints: Beautiful and Unique Holiday Cards Review & $50 Giveaway #TinyPrintsCheer

Several years ago, I stumbled across Tiny Prints and the rest is history! I love their cards and have purchased them every holiday season. We've also bought invitations for birthday parties. Every single time we have been so impressed with the cards and always, always get compliments about them. I can't believe it, but as of today we have 76 days until Christmas. Once again, the seasons have swept past us and December will be here before I know it. This year I am determined not to procrastinate and have already chosen some of my favorite holiday cards.

I think holiday cards should not only be pretty, but should tell a story. We experience so much each and every year that it's hard to share everything with friends and family. Photo holiday cards are the perfect way to share all of those special moments with others. I love that on Tiny Prints you can narrow down your card search by how many photos you would like included on your cards. I always pick 2 different types of cards. The first includes maybe 1-2 photos and is more for friends who live nearby and with whom we communicate often. My top two in this category have to be Frosted Foliage and Sheer Confetti! The first has more subtle colors of silver and grey while the other is bright and merry. When looking at these two cards I noticed something different about photo card options this year on Tiny Prints. You can now choose your own trim options for your cards, which include square, rounded, bracket, ticket & scallop trim! Below is the Sheer Confetti card with a bracket trim.

The new trims definitely add something to the look of the cards and I love the choices! 

The second type of card I like to pick out for the holidays includes 6+ photos and allows me to not only tell friends and family members all about our great year, but to show them through great photos. So much happens in a year and, as a parent, I am constantly snapping photos of the kids. These cards give me a chance to show off my children and the best photos of the year.

When searching for these cards, I also realized all of the new design options available for 2013 on Tiny Prints: Contemporary, Classic, Vintage, Full bleed photos, All That Glitters, Bold Expressions, Simply Chic, Woodland Wonder & The New Tradition. So, if there is a certain style you prefer, you can narrow down your options this way. I choose to narrow my search for this type of card by format. You can choose from flat, folded, postcard, circle or tri-fold cards. My favorites just happen to be the tri-folds because they are larger and allow more space for photos. My top two for this type of card this year are Happy Highlights and Dotted Timeline. Both break out of the traditional holiday card style, offering unique colors and the ability to pinpoint the best parts of your year. Dotted Timeline comes in Tangerine, Wild Strawberry and Hazelnut colors schemes while Happy Highlights is available in Meadow green and Watermelon.

I am pretty sure we will end up purchasing the Happy Highlights tri-fold holiday card in Meadow because I like the colors and I can include 10 photos! Plus, I love the matching address labels and envelope liners for them.

Some people may think picking out holiday cards is a chore, but I have so much fun each year creating a new card for the holidays. I love that Tiny Prints has so many different choices so I can find cards that are unique and fit our personalities. School is back in session for us and, for the first time, I am really feeling it. Josiah is officially a kindergarten student, 5 years old and turning into a big boy so quickly! We've already gotten all of his back-to-school items, from pencils and crayons to scissors and notebooks. I love buying all the new items and now I can buy even more awesome items at Tiny Prints. Tiny Prints Has All Your Holiday Card Needs This Year

I've said this before, but I am very, very picky about the cards we get for any occasion, especially Christmas. I like getting cards that tell about the year and what the boys did along the way. I want it to share a story in pictures and for it to be personalized and completely unique to our family. This is why I love Tiny Prints. For the past two years we have only purchased from Tiny Prints because they always have a wonderful selection. We've purchased Christmas cards, Thanksgiving cards and Birthday cards, too, and each time we've been more than pleased. 

 

We have so many family members who live far away, so our Christmas cards are a way of catching up and reuniting with our loved ones through pictures and words. I love the modern holiday cards, such as the Be Merry card with bright green and red, but now that we have kids, the Tri-fold cards are perfect for storytelling. As the card unfolds, we have pictures of the boys throughout the year and also caption them with all of the huge milestones and accomplishments. This year Josiah started preschool for the first time and Liam learned how to walk, so we've had quite a big year.

I think my favorite card for this year is International Color, a tri-fold with plenty of space for pictures and captions. We usually opt for 2 different cards since I can never decide on just one, so my other choice is definitely the Sheer Collage trifold card.

Important Info When Attending Blogger Conferences

In February, I went to my very first parenting conference, Parents Palooza, in Atlanta. I was so excited to be a part of it, but very nervous because I had no idea what to expect or what to bring with me. I wanted to advertise my blog and several of my sponsors successfully, but how? This post is about what I've learned is important to bring when promoting your business at a conference.

Before the conference, I took the time to look around online to see what types of promotional items were available at low costs. I wanted to promote my blog without spending a great deal of money,  of course. Being a review blog, I don't make much money, but am able to barter my advertising services for other business services. This works to our advantage because, as a blogger, you are able to receive many important items needed to successfully promote your business!

At Parents Palooza, I actually had a booth, so I had to figure out how to make Children Teaching Mama stand out in a crowd of 500 vendors. The first thing I ordered were my business cards. This is very important because you can hand them out at a booth or when you are just walking around and meeting people. I always kept man cards on our table, handed them out as I walked around, and I stuffed them in our promotional gift bags! Plus, I always keep them in my purse just in case I meet someone I'm interested in working with. Be sure to order in bulk because you will hand out many of them! I handed out a good 400 and had to order more when I got home! This is something I wish I had known before ordering cards because the more you purchase, the better deal you can get, especially at Tiny Prints. 

Business cards are definitely the most important item you will need when attending a conference. I have not attended a "Blogger Conference" yet, but can't wait. You bet I'll need a ton of business cards to hand out to businesses I could potentially review for and other bloggers I could work with in the future! I met several businesses and other blogger friends at Parents Palooza. 

Other important advice for advertising and being prepared at conferences? Just be yourself and have fun! Being nervous makes others nervous, so just take your time and get to know everyone. Before the conference, email businesses to see about trading services. I received many items- a nice banner for a backdrop, business cards, gift bags, and other sponsors provided items for an awesome giveaway package.

Graduation Day Memories & Tiny Prints

I look back at my high school and college graduations with nothing but fond memories. Each of those days included special events that I could never forget, like family members coming in from other states just to witness the occasion and going to eat at my favorite tapas restaurant. Yum! For my UGA graduation, it was the hottest day so far in May and all of us were suffocating on the football field with our robes and hats on. It just so happens that my husband graduated from UGA on the very same day and was on that field with me, but this was before we'd even met. Talk about coincidences!

The last graduation I went to was for my sister-in-law, as she graduated and became a teacher. I was well over 8 months pregnant with my first son and waddled around campus like a penguin for all to see. It was an exciting day for all of us and, even though I was huge, I don't remember anything but happiness and excitement for her. Although, after walking about 3 miles that day, I was praying for any signs of labor. (He arrived a month later... a week late. LOL!)

Graduation day is cherished by not only ourselves for our accomplishments, but by our families, too. Some of us thought the day would never come! I know I started to doubt I'd see the day. One thing is for certain, graduation day is a day we will remember for the rest of our lives. It's hard for me to even imagine my little boys graduating one day. I know I'll be one proud Mama!

A Mother's Day To Remember

Before I had children, I knew I wanted to be a Mama, but never could imagine what life would be like. Of course, I had celebrated Mother's Day before, but for my own Mom, not for me! What would be in store?

For my 1st mother's day, we all went out for a picnic. Josiah was not quite a year old at that point and enjoyed sitting in his Bumbo watching everything around him. Last year I received the best gift yet.  We all went out to eat, as usual, and enjoyed a day outside, at the park, and in our garden. Josiah has become quite the little artiste'! He draws, paints, stamps, and marks on just about anything piece of paper he can get his hands on. So, last year for Mother's Day, I received my very first special handmade card just from Josiah. It was such a wonderful gift because it's just from him and I can keep it forever and ever. I hope we continue this will become a tradition over the years because I really can't think of a better present!
