Edu Science Slooh Space Cards Review & Giveaway

Slooh Activity Book Volume 2 with 200 Minute Mission Card

With a mission to support scientific education, SLOOH, an online space camera, streams live views of outer space from robotic telescopes stationed around the globe.  Slooh gives the opportunity for children and adults alike to explore the universe at home from their own computers! Users can go on virtual missions in outer space and snap their own photos of comets, stars, and other celestial objects. Google and Slooh have recently announced their partnership, which allows Google Earth be a part of the program. All pictures taken in Slooh will be shared and uploaded on Google Earth, giving everyone a chance to "map the universe"!

Slooh also offers a product just for kids called Slooh Space Camera Launch Cards. The launch cards, suggested for children ages 8 and up, allow then to also go online to complete missions and explore outer space. Not only are the launch codes collectable, they also contain pictures and information about the objects they will be exploring.

My Thoughts

Slooh Space Camera Launch Cards are not only fun, but extremely educational for children. As a parent always searching for toys and products that interest the children and also teach them, I was very impressed with this award-winning product. I was also shocked that I'd never heard of Slooh!

I received a pack of Slooh Space Camera Launch Cards to review, which contain 10 launch code cards (8 Launch code cards, 1 explore the unknown card, and 1 mission control activation card), giving kids hours of time to explore the universe.

Since Josiah is only 3, I got to try out this product for myself and had a blast! I completed a mission, took pictures, and, indeed, learned much more than I ever expected. It's an amazing product and I think most older children with the ability to focus on a project longer than a few minutes would love it. Toddlers are definitely out of this category, but Josiah did enjoy looking at the stars and other objects so, it was also educational for him (while the interest lasted)! Slooh is absolutely appropriate for kids 8 and up, especially budding astronomers.  I also recommend this product for adults who also show a love of outer space, the universe, and exploring the unknown world around us. Oh, and did I mention these codes are very inexpensive? A 10-pack is available for only $9.99 at Toys R Us and a variety of other Slooh cards and products are also available at Amazon.com, and Radio Shack.

Slooh Launch Cards make a wonderful holiday gift and I believe anyone would be very excited to receive a card pack. I know I couldn't wait to get online and try it out. So, give these a try this holiday season and make someone very happy to receive such a unique and educational gift.
