Discovery Toys Review & Busy Bugs Learning Set Giveaway

When selecting toys for my children, I can be somewhat picky. We don't allow video games in our home, limit tv, and I would rather them play with toys that have some sort of educational value. My oldest son, Josiah (4 yrs), has a very vivid imagination and loves using it when playing with his army men, cars, and pirates. My other son, Liam (19mo) is still learning his basics and loves reading books, learning new words, and playing catch.

Discovery Toys has a variety of products focused on educating and entertaining children from infants all the way to 8 years of age. What I love about their toys is that they focus on skill sets developing at each age and their toys for each age group help improve and enhance those particular skills. For example, babies at 6 months need to work on improving dexterity and coordination while toddler ages are working on their symbolic thinking and more finely developing gross motor skills.

Discovery Toys also goes above and beyond the national standards for safety and quality, providing only the best toys, music, books, and games for your children. Founded in 1978 by an early childhood educator, the Discovery Toys has never faltered from its original mission: Teach. Play. Inspire. and they continue to develop intriguing and educational products children love.

My Thoughts

Discovery Toys TANGIBALLI first saw Discovery Toys featured at Parents Palooza in March. After that, I knew I had to check them out and couldn't wait to receive some of their products. We received an item for both boys. Liam received a Tangiball and Josiah was sent the Busy Bugs Learning Set.

The Tangiball is an amazing blue nubby ball that squeaks, smells and squishes to your baby's delight. Lightly scented with vanilla, the Tangiball activates all senses and encourages children to throw, catch, roll and kick! It helps develop gross motor skills and develop hand-eye coordination. My favorite is that the Tangiball never goes flat!

BUSY BUGS Learning SetThe Discovery Toys Busy Bugs Learning Set is now one of Josiah's favorite games. For ages 3yrs to primary school ages, Busy Bugs includes cards with several different games which  teach children how to count, match, sequence, organize, and sort of bugs. There are even a few included blank cards so you can make your own game! Josiah's counting skills have markedly improved since playing with this game and I've never seen him so excited about sorting and matching. He loves bugs, so this was right up his alley!

Buy It
You can purchase the Tangiball on the Discovery Toys webpage for only $12.50 and the Busy Bugs Learning Set for only $22.50. You can also find Discovery Toys on Amazon.com.

My son has many favorite toys but I think his all time favorite are the Lincoln Logs (I believe I spelled that right lol) because he can build so many things with nothing but "little sticks" and then tear it down and build something else. This keeps him preoccupied for quite a while and often times me too! As well has having to use his imagination these have helped him learn to count, as well as to differentiate between colors and shapes (with windows, doors, and roofs).
