Each spring we get so excited when the flowers start to grow, we can plant our garden and the weather gets warmer. By the time summer rolls around, we are spending almost every day outdoors. Every summer we seem to have more and more planned. This summer we went to the beach twice and, when not at the beach, we were cooking out with the family, celebrating birthdays, at baseball games or just hanging out in our pool. When it wasn't raining, you could most frequently find us outdoors, that's for sure! We love making the most out of summer vacation and being out in the sun, but we also know sunscreen is a must.Josiah and Ethan having a great time outdoors this summer with their Banana Boat sunscreen. |
I'd actually purchased the Sport Performance Coolzone Continuous Spray (30SPF) about a month ago because it was a great price and I was curious about the cool feeling it was supposed to have. Since it gets so hot here, a nice cooling sensation is always welcome while out in the Georgia sun. Our entire family has used it, including myself and grandma, and all of us love it. It's easy to spray on, works well to protect skin in the sun and we love the cool feeling it produces when spraying it on. It's a refreshing feeling after being outside a while and also works regardless of sweat. This is a great on-the-go sunscreen, so it often goes in my purse or bag!
The Banana Boat Protect & Hydrate Sunscreen Lotion (SPF 15) is definitely my favorite. Why? Because I suffer from dry skin all season. This sunscreen not only protects skin, but hydrates it when skin needs it most! When putting on the sunscreen, it really does feel like a lotion and I could feel it actually soaking into my leg and renewing the dry skin. It felt great!
Josiah is always super-cautious about me putting sunscreen on him. He is not a fan of sitting still and is most afraid that I will get it in his eyes due to a prior mishap that left him in tears and pain. I was excited to show him the Banana Boat Kids Tear-Free Sting-Free sunscreen lotion (50SPF) because I knew he would love it. I already have to be careful about putting sunscreen on his face and, because of this, I have missed places near his eyes and this has caused him to get a bit red. Now I don't have to worry as much and neither does he. Knowing that this sunscreen was tear-free and sting-free, he was much more relaxed when I had to put sunscreen on him and didn't flinch when putting it on his face. I was able to get him to close his eyes, wipe it around his face evenly and protect his skin just like I should. Plus, he didn't cry and, if he did get any in his eyes, he was none the wiser! This was a great change to the usual process of putting on sunscreen.
Lastly, we received the Banana Boat Natural Reflect Baby Lotion (50SPF) Sunscreen. I have mentioned before that Liam has very sensitive skin and, as a baby, he had eczema. For these reasons, we have to be very careful about the products we put on his skin and mostly use natural items. Last year I had a Natural Reflect sunscreen party during Josiah's 5th birthday and was able to share it with many other moms, so I was happy to receive more this year because it worked perfectly for Liam and did not cause any breakouts at all. This is one of the only lotions/sunscreens that doesn't cause some sort of redness or rash, which is amazing, so we always keep this stocked in our home.
Liam met Tim Hudson at a Braves Game this summer & was definitely wearing Banana Boat on this sunny day! |

I have a backyard pool and grandkids come over all the time. I am always looking for good sunscreens for them. Thanks for your review. It is nice to know you used this as a child also!
