Need Help From My Readers! Help Me Select A New Camera for CTM

Children Teaching Mama is in dire need of a new camera! We've gone through cheap cameras like candy, so it's time to buy something that's built to last. At Christmas, the hubs bought me a new camera, but it died in a matter of days (don't worry- we got our money back, thank goodness)! Now I am camera-less again and need to decide on something asap.

This time I want a DSLR, which are the more expensive cameras, but more versatile, too. You can buy other lenses and other accessories to go with it. I've dreamed of having a Canon Rebel since I was a kid and now I believe it's time. Or is it? Others have recommended Nikon, so I am totally confused at all of the choices. Cannon Rebel comes in so many different modes, T3, T3i, T2, T2i, etc, etc. The one above is a T3i and costs $800!! Eek! I don't think I can convince myself to pay that much, but the Canon Rebel T2i below is looking nice at the moment...

So, do you have a DSLR camera? Which one do you recommend?

on my list too! But my bday was this week and hubby surprised me with a non-dslr so now I guess I have to wait even longer. At least this one is pretty decent! :)

Please share when you make a decision. I have been "borrowing" my dad's for some time now and would love advice on what to get when the time comes to buy my own.

I have a Canon Rebel T1i. We bought it a couple years ago and love it!

You really can't go wrong with Canon. You should definitely look at the options available and find one that really fits your needs. I can't see paying that much for a camera, but mine is a Canon Powershot and I adore it! It was about $120 and it does EVERYTHING!

I would love a new camera I've checked the reviews and the t3i from the t2i basically is differentiated by a screen that you can pull out

this looks like a great one, I can't really give you any advice because I'm not too good with technology
