About The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic adventure follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an amazing quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Sorcerers.

From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” the first of a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

The 3D animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population.  A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA.  When BASA’s no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary’s warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission.  But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner) it’s up to scrawny, risk-averse Gary to do the real rescuing.  As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure-hungry son Kip (Jonathan Morgan Heit).

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta Review & Giveaway @DisneyPictures

My kids love dog movies, so when Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta when it was released as a combo with a DVD, Blu-Ray and HD digital copy, we couldn't wait to watch!

About the Movie
Disney released the Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital Download DVD of Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta on September 18th! Featuring your favorite chihuahuas, Papi (George Lopez) and Chloe (Odette Annable), as well as their adorable little pups. It's chaos, as usual, when Papi's family moves into the Langham Hotel! This upscale hotel comes complete with a luxurious doggy spa, which seems like paradis. However, trouble finds its way to the hotel, too, when Rosa, the smallest member of the pack, feels less special than the others. Poor baby! Valuable lessons are taught as Papi helps Rosa find her inner strength. Both humans and canines are reminded of the importance of family, friends and teamwork.

Our Thoughts
The boys sat down with their popcorn for this hilarious hit and had a blast, laughing as the story went along. Nothing entertains children more than talking dogs, at least in our house! You will laugh, there is no doubt about it, but you may cry, too, during the emotional scenes. The kids didn't, but I sure was close.

The boys got a kick out of the movie because the puppies are home schooled just like them, but, unlike the dogs, the puppies are preparing for doggie school. Papi, their father, is always teaching and guiding the kids and is just like their own Papa! I love movies that actually teach something to kids and Bevery Hills Chihuahua 3 definitely fits the bill.
Find out how to party like Papi, whip up his famous guacamole, get Chloe's fashion tips along with fun activity sheets! Just click the picture below.

How To Save Money On Movies

The TV is known to be the most popular past time since its creation until the present. However, the TV only owes its prestige from movies that have made the motion picture popular in the first place. Movies are more than just entertainment that like television talk shows or prime time series, movies are often works of art. Because of this many spend extra cash just to watch movies. However, you need not spend tons of cash for this. Here are some tips for inexpensive movie viewing experience.

1. Go on Discount Days If you are into watching the latest movies and in the big screen, I suggest going on discount days in order to save some money, especially if you’re not alone. The problem is that during these days, there are more people than usual and getting tickets may be hard. However, this can easily be resolved by going to the ticket booth's website and reserving tickets in advance.

2. Get Premium TV Subscription Some cable and digital TV carriers offer premium subscriptions that gets you access to pay per views and the latest movies in HD. You get to watch these great movies in the comfort of your own home and you can watch tons of them for a minimal rate. The best thing is that you can watch it with as much people as you want.

3. Skip the Popcorn If you are with several people buying popcorn can easily inflate the budget. Cut on the extra calories and pass on the popcorn. If you really want something to chew on, buy large pack of popcorn and share it with your companions instead of buying one for each person.

4. Consider renting If you are into Blu-Ray or DVDs then consider renting them from authorized renting stations. You will probably only watch it once and a small renting fee is truly worth it especially if you will be watching it with the whole family or with your friends.

5. Buy DVDs or Blue Rays from local pawn shops Pawn shops often buy Blu-Ray Movies if they are really good. Thus, pawn shops are good places to look movies for if you are considering on owning the movie for the sake of collecting it or watching it again and again.

6. Get Coupon Codes “If you love it, then buy it” as the saying goes. Buying the movies from authorized stores will keep the movie industry going. Buying a movie in DVD or Blu-Ray format is still an affordable option compared to watching it on the cinema. But as opposed to options 4 and 5, this is a slightly more expensive option. However, owning a brand new DVD or Blu-Ray has a different pleasure to it if you really love movies. If you want to make savings out of this, it is best if you can get your hands on to some coupons for walmart or discount coupons from other stores that sell Blu-Ray. This makes it almost as affordable as second hand copies.

Babar and Father Christmas DVD Review & Giveaway 3 Winners!

When I was a child, one of my favorite shows to watch was Babar. I always got excited when it came on HBO in the mornings before school. I also loved reading the books. Now that I'm older and have children, it's so nice that I am now able to share Babar books and movies with them. Now one of my favorite holiday movies is available on DVD. Babar and Father Christmas just came out on DVD this November, just in time for Christmas!

About the DVD

In this delightful holiday tale, Babar's children write a letter to Father Christmas to ask him to visit Celesteville at Christmas. Their letter, however, never arrives because it is stolen by Babar's Arch-enemy, Rataxes the Rhinoceros, who wants all of Santa's toys for himself! Can Babar find Father Christmas and save the day for Celesteville?

Includes 2 Classic Babar TV Bonus Episodes:

• A Child In the Snow
• The Gift

My Thoughts

I couldn't wait to watch Babar and Father Christmas with my children. I've read Babar with Josiah before and he absolutely loved the book. We've seen a few of the cartoons on tv, but rarely get to watch it, so this was quite a treat.
Just as I remember, Babar and Father Christmas was a wonderful Christmas story and full of life lessons. That's what I love about Babar- there is always an important lesson you take away from each episode. Josiah sat and watched, completely engrossed in the movie. It was a bit too much for Liam, but he did like the 2 bonus episodes, which are a little shorter.
I think this is a great family holiday movie to watch together and definitely puts you in the holiday spirit. Children 4+ are the prime audience for this feature. Although it isn't action packed like so many other movies and shows out there, it draws children in by the actual story and animation. I, personally, like the nostalgia factor.Click here to learn about other Babar DVDs now available.

Buy Babar and Father Christmas on Amazon.com for only $8.99!

Family Movie Night Presents: Game of Your Life on NBC Friday, Dec. 2nd at 8pm ET/ 7pm CT

Just like most families, we look forward to Friday nights at home. The weekend is beginning and that means quality time together as a family without the interference of work and other obligations! NBC's Family Movie Night, sponsored by P&G and Walmart, provides quality family movies for the entire family. We wrote about Game Time in September and now it's time for the next Family Movie Night. This coming Friday, December 2nd, Family Movie Night debuts Game of Your Life. The boys loved watching the last movie, so I can't wait to watch this one with them, too!

On December 2nd at 8pm ET/ 7pm CT, turn your TV over to NBC, pop some popcorn and sit around on the couch as a family for a great movie everyone will enjoy. The movie's plot focuses on Zach Taylor, a recent high school graduate who has been accepted to the prestigious Digital Institute of Game Design. He must make high marks on his freshman project, but it's not so easy! His dad is having some financial issues back home and Zach's taken on a secret project on the side. It's too much for a college student to balance and something must eventually give. The story is a great lesson on decision making, trusting others and loyalty.

Game of Your Life is a movie that will not only entertain and hold your interest, but something you can talk about after. The entire movie centers around important lessons that all kids and teens must eventually learn. I had the privilege of watching a pre-screening of the movie and thoroughly enjoyed it! I was invested in the characters and couldn't wait to see how it all played out. Game of Your Life is absolutely a family-friendly movie and I highly suggest checking it out this Friday night (Dec. 2nd) on NBC at 8pm ET/7pm CT!

Be sure to follow Family Movie Night on Facebook to keep up with all of the upcoming movies and related info!

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of P&G and received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
