Tom's Of Maine Silly Strawberry Kid's Toothpaste Review & Giveaway

I have had the most difficult time ever getting Josiah to brush his teeth. The problem isn't that he won't stand still to brush, but he doesn't like any of the toothpaste except the baby kind that can be swallowed. It's been frustrating for me and I've noticed his teeth looking a bit yellow. I've tried many toothpastes in the past, but none of past the test, which is why I was so anxious to try the Tom's of Maine Silly Strawberry Toothpaste.

I love Tom's of Maine products, so we participated in something called the "Silly Strawberry Swap" with other blogging parents. We switched out our children's toothpaste for the Silly Strawberry so we could see how it fared when compared to other toothpastes. I told Josiah we were going to try a new toothpaste and he was both excited and anxious due to past experiences.

During our first time brushing with Tom's of Maine Silly Strawberry Toothpaste he remarked,"Yum!!" and this is when I knew we had a shot at this one. I was immediately hopeful. Every time we brush, Josiah asks for his strawberry toothpaste and that's fine with me. I know he'll take the time to brush carefully and the way he should.

 I'll be the first to admit it: we really need help with our oral care routine (i.e. brushing and flossing teeth). Some nights I forget to brush, which I know is awful! I don't floss very often either. My husband is pretty good about brushing and flossing, but I've noticed he sometimes rushes through it. As for the kids, I brush Liam's teeth, but Josiah would go a week without brushing if I didn't stay on him!! I once told him his teeth would fall out if he didn't brush them and he was excited (because the tooth fairy would come). That was a parenting strike-out for sure! Josiah brushes quickly and never gets all of his teeth. I try to go over his teeth a few more times, but when we are in a hurry, I can't always do this. In short, we definitely need help with our oral care habits!

We've already started to remind each other about brushing and I've never seen Josiah so excited about brushing his teeth and using his big boy mouthwash. I won't tell too much, but we will have plenty of pictures! Rylee has her own big girl toothbrush and mouthwash, too. Believe it or not, the kids have actually helped ME remember to brush at night. This has been great. Now I just need to increase my flossing.

I was sent the TheraBrite Plus Deluxe Whitening Kit to review and couldn't wait to give it a try. Since becoming a Mama, I have admittedly, added much more coffee to my weekly routine. My teeth have definitely suffered and are not as white as they once were. The first time I had my teeth whitened, the process was about $250 and that was 10 years ago! The solution was contained in syringes and all I had to do was put little dots of the gel around the tray before sticking it in my mouth. It really doesn't get easier than that. Then, after leaving the trays in for at least 1 hour (but up to 4-8hrs) you take them out and rinse out your mouth with the TheraBrite Plus Oral Rinse, which is included in the kit.

My Thoughts
I was very pleased with the TheraBrite Plus Deluxe Whitening Kit for many reasons. First was that the ingredients are all-natural, which is very important to our family. I had no idea all-natural whitening kits even existed! Second was the price at only $73! You really can't beat it, especially with their 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of their products.

The first time I filled the moldable trays, I went a little overboard with the gel. This caused the formula to get all over my gums and was not very comfortable, as it can irritate the mouth. FYI, it may irritate the gums, but not half as badly as the other whitening products I've used containing glycerin. That stuff made my gums bleed, but not TheraBrite! It also doesn't taste bad and the TheraBrite oral rinse tastes like cinnamon. I love it! Since the first time, I've learned that it really doesn't take much gel each time and that means the product really lasts a long time. In five days, I didn't even go through an entire syringe!

So, does it work? Yes, it does! Even after the first time I used the whitening kit, I could see spots on my teeth where it was beginning to work. Five days later, my teeth were noticeably whiter, brighter and my breath was fresh pretty much all day. I loved this product and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about getting their teeth whitened. Save some money and look at the whitening kits available by TheraBreath.
