A few weeks ago, we met Josiah's 1st grade teachers for the during open house and were ready to get into school mode. This means many things for our family, including buying new clothes for the school year. Whenever we go, I always have my Kohl's Cash and coupon in hand. Once I even had a 30% off coupon and couldn't wait to see how much I would save. This year Josiah knew he would need a backpack for school and when he saw a Skylanders backpack at Kohl's, he had to have it! I purchased all of Josiah's back to school clothes and his backpack for a little over $100 and saved close to $100. Saving so much money is an incredible feeling! Not to mention, my husband can't complain about me shopping in the future since I have more Kohl's Cash to save even more money. There are always clearance racks around the store, so I always check those out first and have even bought off-season clothes before for less than $2 a piece. I just buy one size up for the kids and hang them in the closet until the next year. When clothes are priced so low, I have to buy them!

Show Off Your Unique & Fun Finds Via the New Finds App

Growing up in Athens, Georgia, I cannot tell you how often I found unique and fun items in the downtown shops. Back then, I would share my finds my purchasing the items as gifts for special occasions. Now that I am a blogger, I have the opportunity to share many finds with all of my followers. Let me just start out by saying I LOVE to shop! I can easily waste an hour walking around Target or the mall, just looking at all the new and interesting items for sale. I get so excited when I find great products for our family and I enjoy sharing my finds with others just as much. This is why I was so excited to learn about the new app Finds, which is available for free in the iTunes store!

What's so awesome about Finds? I easily uploaded the app to both my iPhone and my iPad since I usually have one of the two with me when shopping. Then I made my account and was immediately ready to share my finds! Once you have your account (just by adding your name and email address), you can do several different things:

Share your finds- Click the + symbol to take a picture of your unique find. You can edit the picture, add information about the item and also what you think about it. We shared three of my new most favorite products I recently received and purchased. Each time I posted about an item, it immediately shares them with everyone else who has the app. Plus, it automatically links the item up to a website where others can purchase the item! Isn't that ingenious? Here are my first three finds:

I found this view via clicking on my profile. By clicking on one photo, I can pull up the information about it. These are my favorite new finds and I couldn't wait to share them. The first is a Skip-Hop book bag for my son Liam. He absolutely loves this backpack and takes it everywhere with him. The pair of shoes is by Zipz and, true to its name, the top of the shoe can zip on and off, so you can add new tops designs on top of the soles. The last one is something I just bought this weekend, the new Knock Knock Clump-O-Lumps stuffed animals that have interchangeable parts. Just like the shoes, each of these animals has 3 zippered parts that you can change around to create your own new animal. I bet you've never seen a shark-frog before, but now you can! Isn't that cool?

Share your thoughts- You can not only share your thoughts about your own finds, but you can comment on the finds other people add! You can also add your favorite items to your own Wishlist for future reference. This way you can keep up with all your new finds for shopping or sharing with others at a later time.

Find some new finds- Click on the "Finds" button to discover what great finds others have found. Someone posted about Buncha Blocks earlier and they look perfect for my little boys who love to build. There were also some adorable rain boots someone added. In the description it also mentioned where she found them and that they are on sale. Those are my kinds of rain boots. All I had to do was click on the "Find" button on the product picture and I was immediately transported to the website where I could purchase them at great prices.

Get inspired- By looking at all the products people have posted on the Finds app, I have found some great ideas for future birthdays and special occasions. Josiah's 6th birthday is coming up in June, so this is really the perfect place for me to find some inspiration. Plus, he can even look through the finds, too, and let me know what he likes!

My Zipz Shoes Find!

I enjoy sharing my finds and am just like a kid in that I still get excited when I find something new and fun, especially when it is something for my kiddos. My favorite thing about the Finds app is that I can see what others have found. I do a great deal of shopping online, so this makes finding new items not only fun, but easy. Plus, I saved money on the rain boots since the link went to a sale website. So, I'm thinking maybe this app can help me find new gift ideas and maybe even save me some money on the gifts.

This is a fun app for anyone and is so simple to use that even my computer illiterate mom could figure it out.  Even after using the app for the past few days, I've grown addicted to it and love checking in to see what else has been added. Scooby-Doo Mystery Workshop For Last Minute Present Ideas

 Josiah is a huge Scooby-Doo fan and has just about all the movies and many of the episodes on DVD. When we are on the road during the holidays that's what he usually wants to watch in the car. We have always been huge Kmart fans. I remember shopping as a kid with my Grandma and she'd run every time the blue light started flashing for a sale. Now that I'm older an can appreciate a good sale myself, I realize why she loved Kmart so much. They always have great deals going on, especially around the holidays.

Finding the Right Bed For Your Home at Sueno Beds

When I was pregnant with Josiah, we were still in graduate school and lived in an apartment. Our bed was a small futon that was fine for our needs at the time. Being pregnant changed everything because I could NOT get comfortable on that tiny mattress and knew I needed a mattress that provided more support. We always make the most of our summer vacation with the kids by planning activities, trips to the beach and more. Just last week we actually went to Myrtle Beach and had a blast! For rainy days and days that are so hot it's impossible to go outdoors, the Kid Made Modern Printed Tape Set and Board Book Kit are perfect. The Printed Tape Set is definitely my favorite because I'd never seen anything like it before. Kids can make wallets, bags and other items from masking tape! Isn't that so cool? The Board Book Kit allows kids to make their very own book from start to finish. Both of these are great ways to get that imagination going and keep those minds going. The kit included everything needed to make a creative and colorful book. Even our babysitter was intrigued and made one for the boys! We haven't had a chance to do the lemonade stand stuff just yet, but the kids are dying to give have their own little business. Since we live up in the mountains (aka- away from civilization), there is no one to sell lemonade to, but we are going to take it to grandma's house next weekend for some fun.

This summer has been so much fun and we still have 3 weeks to go. I know the kids have had a blast and we've made some memories that will last a lifetime. I have definitely taken a great deal of photos. The great thing is that Target now has a Facebook app called the "Summer-izer", which allows you and the kids to upload your summer photos and add the "Big Honkin' Summer" icons to them. Then, you can either share them online or print at a local Target Photo Center.

Reasons to Choose Products In Carton Containers

Moving to the mountains has really helped out family in many ways, including becoming more eco-conscious. We tried to do our part before, but living here is much different and forces a different way of living. We no longer have a trash service, which is actually a really great thing because it forced us to evaluate the kinds of things we purchase and how much waste we create each day.

Buying more items that are recyclable or reusable has definitely contributed to less waste and has also saved us money since we pay per $3 a bag to dump trash! We try to use items that are recyclable, but I have to admit I don't always purchase foods based on their containers. I went on a fridge hunt to see what containers were there and found out many things, including the fact that I really need to clean it out!

As you can see, it is full of just about everything and the kids have done a number on it, for sure! We have a variety of containers, many of which are recyclable or reusable, such as the glass containers. I sometimes freeze items and save them in glass jars, can my vegetables and we also save leftovers for another meal, which is why there are our own containers in there, many of which are made of recycled plastics. I see a few cartons there, but not nearly enough! The ones I see are the almond milk, soy milk and aseptic soy milk I use for baking.

The more I read about paper cartons, I realize we need to purchase more items with carton containers. Why? Because they are so eco-friendly! There are so many different items that come in cartons, including orange juice, milk, soy milk, sometimes packs of tomatoes, and much, much more!

Here are some interesting facts about paper cartons and why we should all use them more often:

• Over 41 million households have access to carton recycling, and that number is on the rise. In addition, cartons are made from renewable materials – more than 70 percent of the carton is made from paper, all from trees from responsibly managed forests.
• Packaging plays a very important role in keeping food and beverages fresh. The environmental impact of a package is just as important as the contents inside. 
• Cartons are recyclable where facilities exist. The paper fiber contained in cartons is valuable. Recycled cartons are used to make products such as tissue, office paper, wall boards and other building materials.  To learn if your community accepts cartons for recycling, please visit www.recyclecartons.com or check with your local recycling program.
• Cartons are made with renewable energy. More than 50 percent of the energy used to make the paper in Evergreen Packaging’s cartons comes from biomass.
• Responsible forestry promotes new forest growth, and these forests help to diminish greenhouse gases. Forests remove carbon from the atmosphere and store it in trees. In the US, due to both increases in the total area of forest land and increases in the carbon stored per acre, an additional 192 million metric tons of carbon are sequestered each year through responsible forest management programs nationwide. This offsets roughly 11% of the country’s industrial greenhouse gas emissions, the equivalent of removing almost 135 million passenger vehicles from the nation’s highways.

Since we already recycle, I know that our area does accept cartons and yours probably does, too. If they don't, save them for arts & crafts projects with the kids! There are some cute ideas on the Evergreen website. If you do make a craft with cartons, you can submit a picture to be featured on the website, too! I also didn't know that cartons help protect the food from UV light that can decrease the nutritional value or that 70% of the paper used for cardboard cartons is from a renewable resource! Looking for coupons and discount codes has become a hobby of mine over the past few months. I love putting my budgeting skills to the test each month to see just how much I can really save. My son had school today and, as usual, came home starving. I knew we'd have to eat a snack since it would be several hours before my husband returned from work. This was the perfect time to give Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches a try! If one kid eats, both of them have to, so it's perfect that the sandwiches are packaged in twos.

When at Walmart, we actually purchased everything we needed for a perfect lunch, small dinner or snack with the Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches. I purchased Lay's BBQ Potato Chips to eat with the Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches. Those are Liam's favorites! Since the cheese was already on the sandwiches, I popped them into the microwave for less than 2 minutes, let them sit for a few minutes and they were ready for the boys to try. All of the directions are printed on each of the packages, which made things even easier. You just leave the sandwiches in the wrap, put them in the microwave and follow the directions. Simple!

Did Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches pass the taste test? Absolutely! Even my pick eater, Liam, gobbled his down without hesitation. Josiah did, too, and even asked to eat another one for lunch tomorrow. I was so happy to learn yet another quick and easy food the kids love. My husband also had nothing but good things to say about the mini sandwiches. Our entire family enjoyed eating them, but I think I got the most out of them-- an entire family fed for less than $6 and in only a few minutes. I also love how moist and fresh the sandwiches are. Since they are kept inside the packaging for cooking, the sandwich retains all of the moisture, so the bread is so soft and fluffy.

Like I said, with the holidays nearing, I have been so busy wrapping presents, sending Christmas cards and trying to get everything organized before the big day! Add Beautiful Lounge Chairs To Your Home

We are moving into a new home in a few months and I told my husband it's time to get rid of our well-used furniture. It's been through so much with our two children and I'd like to actually get something not only functional, but pretty and decorative. Who wouldn't?

First, I want to add indoor lounge chairs to our living area. I'd love to have something I can relax in and that adds something to the room, for sure. Finding a quality indoor lounge chair is not as easy as it seems so, when you find the perfect chairs, you will definitely know!

Secondly, our outdoor furniture is close to 5 years old now! Time goes by so quickly.
