The holidays have always been my very favorite time of year and I get so excited as they near. Thanksgiving is just next week and my boys have already been talking about our big dinner feast and everything they want to eat. It makes me think back to my own childhood and the delicious foods my mom would make and all of the scents that started in the kitchen and spread their way throughout the entire house. Pumpkin pie and all-spice, cinnamon apples and, of course, turkey and ham all have a distinct smell and each are guaranteed to make your mouth water. The holidays also bring in many guests from out of town, so not only does our home have to look beautiful and smell great, but I want my hair to look great and smell wonderful, too. I have a secret I don't tell many people... I love going to Walmart and smelling all the different shampoos on the hair care aisles. Bag It Forward with Walmart & Elmer's #BagItForward

 Just the other day we went on our weekly shopping trip to Walmart here in Ellijay. School will be starting up again very soon, so it is time to purchase school supplies! I always loved going to Walmart as a child and looking at all the cool new items I could get for the new school year. Every time there was something else fun to buy.

We are actually participating in an amazing opportunity to Bag It Forward. What does that mean? It means that I find the Elmer's school supply list stand in our local Walmart, purchase the items on the list and give it to someone else who can use the school supplies for the new school year. I think everyone should do this, especially because you can get school supplies for such great prices at Walmart. It doesn't cost much and is an easy way to really make someone's day and help them out. You can give the bag of supplies to a student, a teacher or an organization, #BagItForward. We decided to purchase school supplies for my son's school, Pleasant Hills Montessori, a small school here in Ellijay. They often ask parents for help with supplies throughout the year, so I thought this would be a great way to help them get a great start! Josiah's teacher, Mrs. Kara, often does arts and crafts with them, takes them on field trips and does much more than she has to, so why not give something back to her? She deserves it!

 We found the school's supply list and bought all of the items on it: scissors, markers, paper, pencils, erasers, wipes and hand sanitizer. I also called the school to see what other items they would like, so picked up several items for them! I found a cute reusable tote to stuff all the items into and, believe me, it is packed full! We actually haven't dropped it off yet, but we are going to meet the teacher next week when she gets home from vacation! I know she will be so surprised and excited.

It feels good to do something nice for others. This is such an easy way to give back to those who give so much to others and/or to those who could really use the supplies. I believe, in total, we paid about $20 for all the school supplies, which is such an affordable price to make someone's day!

The TV is known to be the most popular past time since its creation until the present. However, the TV only owes its prestige from movies that have made the motion picture popular in the first place. Movies are more than just entertainment that like television talk shows or prime time series, movies are often works of art. Because of this many spend extra cash just to watch movies. However, you need not spend tons of cash for this. Here are some tips for inexpensive movie viewing experience.

1. Go on Discount Days If you are into watching the latest movies and in the big screen, I suggest going on discount days in order to save some money, especially if you’re not alone. The problem is that during these days, there are more people than usual and getting tickets may be hard. However, this can easily be resolved by going to the ticket booth's website and reserving tickets in advance.

2. Get Premium TV Subscription Some cable and digital TV carriers offer premium subscriptions that gets you access to pay per views and the latest movies in HD. You get to watch these great movies in the comfort of your own home and you can watch tons of them for a minimal rate. The best thing is that you can watch it with as much people as you want.

3. Skip the Popcorn If you are with several people buying popcorn can easily inflate the budget. Cut on the extra calories and pass on the popcorn. If you really want something to chew on, buy large pack of popcorn and share it with your companions instead of buying one for each person.

4. Consider renting If you are into Blu-Ray or DVDs then consider renting them from authorized renting stations. You will probably only watch it once and a small renting fee is truly worth it especially if you will be watching it with the whole family or with your friends.

5. Buy DVDs or Blue Rays from local pawn shops Pawn shops often buy Blu-Ray Movies if they are really good. Thus, pawn shops are good places to look movies for if you are considering on owning the movie for the sake of collecting it or watching it again and again.

6. Get Coupon Codes “If you love it, then buy it” as the saying goes. Buying the movies from authorized stores will keep the movie industry going. Buying a movie in DVD or Blu-Ray format is still an affordable option compared to watching it on the cinema. But as opposed to options 4 and 5, this is a slightly more expensive option. However, owning a brand new DVD or Blu-Ray has a different pleasure to it if you really love movies. If you want to make savings out of this, it is best if you can get your hands on to some coupons for walmart or discount coupons from other stores that sell Blu-Ray. This makes it almost as affordable as second hand copies.

My son had school today and, as usual, came home starving. I knew we'd have to eat a snack since it would be several hours before my husband returned from work. This was the perfect time to give Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches a try! If one kid eats, both of them have to, so it's perfect that the sandwiches are packaged in twos.

I purchased Lay's BBQ Potato Chips to eat with the Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches. Those are Liam's favorites! Since the cheese was already on the sandwiches, I popped them into the microwave for less than 2 minutes, let them sit for a few minutes and they were ready for the boys to try. All of the directions are printed on each of the packages, which made things even easier. You just leave the sandwiches in the wrap, put them in the microwave and follow the directions. Simple!

Did Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches pass the taste test? Absolutely! Even my pick eater, Liam, gobbled his down without hesitation. Josiah did, too, and even asked to eat another one for lunch tomorrow. I was so happy to learn yet another quick and easy food the kids love. My husband also had nothing but good things to say about the mini sandwiches. Our entire family enjoyed eating them, but I think I got the most out of them-- an entire family fed for less than $6 and in only a few minutes. I also love how moist and fresh the sandwiches are. Since they are kept inside the packaging for cooking, the sandwich retains all of the moisture, so the bread is so soft and fluffy.

Like I said, with the holidays nearing, I have been so busy wrapping presents, sending Christmas cards and trying to get everything organized before the big day!
