Make Your House Feel Like Home With Happy Havens

Growing up I lived in the same house for 18 years. This was the only home that really felt like home to me and I still miss it to this day. I have so many great memories growing up in that house and this is exactly why it's so important for me to make a great home for my own children. I want them to have the same experience I had when growing up in my home.
I always try to keep our house clean and inviting for our children and guests. Of course I only want the best for my little family and that's why it is so important to do research and find out what products best suit our lifestyle. I came across Happy Havens recently and fell in love with the great articles and reviews about making your house a home so I can make informed decisions. This is exactly what I've been looking for! Plus, they feature giveaways of their favorite products.
We are a "green" family, so I enjoy reading about products that we can use and that make life easier and are eco-friendly. I found several awesome products and their reviews on Happy Havens, which make me even more interested in giving them a try.  It makes me feel better to know that others have a great experience with a product before I purchase it. Since we've been wanting to purchase a new vacuum, I looked up some vacuum product reviews and came across the Dyson DC28 review.  I think this is the perfect vacuum for us. I need something heavy-duty that can get up cat hair and help clean well. Plus, it has a HEPA filter that does not have to be replaced. With a 5 year warranty, I can save money and keep our house and floors very clean!

What tips do you have to keep a house clean, inviting and feeling like home?

Holiday Gift Guide: Tommee Tippee Bibs & Chewthers Review/Giveaway

banner

Tommee Tippee BibsOne of the things that I’m… umm, Santa… struggling with this year is what to fill Willow’s stocking with. On Alleigh and Kaelyn’s first Christmas they were old enough to eat Puffs and yogurt melts so those were a perfect stocking stuffers, but on Willow’s first Christmas she will still be exclusively breastfeeding. So what do I put in there? I finally got a brilliant idea when browsing around the Tommee Tippee website. Bibs & Chewthers!!

3 chewther4 chewther6 chewther9 chewther
Whether you bottle feed or breastfeed I am sure you have dealt with milk dribbles. All of my girls have found it fun to get a good latch, start drinking away, then let go… leading to milk everywhere! It seems no matter what I would do the milk would always run down their chin and cheeks ending up trapped between their chin and neck which would eventually lead to redness and rashes. Not to mention the spoiled milk smell – yuck. Since daily baths IMG_5647weren’t an option for us (our girls have super sensitive skin that gets dried out very easily) I needed to find something to stop the milk from getting in their sensitive neck folds to begin with and the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bibs do just that.
These bibs come in sets of two with either cream, pink, or blue trim. I love the thick absorbent ring around the neck. This catches all those milk dribbles and stops them from getting trapped and causing all those problems. Plus it is adjustable and will fit all newborn necks. It is also very absorbent and super soft against baby – Willow likes holding onto it with her hands. I also really like the generous size of these bibs because when spit ups happen (because they will happen) babies adorable outfit is sure to stay clean.

The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bibs are also awesome for catching those rivers of drool that appear when little ones start teething. Alleigh and Kaelyn both started teething around 2 and a half months old, but their first teeth didn’t pop through til roughly 5 months old. Willow has started chewing on her hands and is a bit drooly already at 11 weeks old. The great news is Tommee Tippee has a range of carefully manufactured baby chewthers for your little one designed to alleviate some of the pain associated with teething. There are four different chewthers and each is available in pink, blue, or green. So much thought and care has gone into the design of the Tommee Tippee Chewthers not only are they designed to help alleviate pain associated with teething, but also your child's oral development in preparation for speech and feeding by supporting lip seal, muscle coordination and jaw development. Plus they are BPA Free.
3 chewtherStage 1 - 3+ months Helps prepare baby for thicker liquids.

4 chewther Dual Ended Chewther – 4+ months Prepares baby to chew pureed foods.

6 chewtherChewther Keys - 6+ months Prepares baby to chew mushy foods.

9 chewtherCosmic Chewther – 9+ months Prepares baby to chew chunky foods.

I love that Tommee Tippee has baby covered through all the teething phases and in fun vibrant colors as well. Plus all of these items are very reasonably priced so you…. I mean Santa… can afford to stuff their stocking full! The two packs of Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bibs are $7.99 each and Chewthers are $6.99 each. Plus guess what?
One lucky reader is going to win their very own pack of bibs and set of chewthers!

Holiday Gift Guide: Kristian Regale Sparkling Juice Review & Giveaway

Are you looking for something new and refreshing to brighten up your holiday tables? Tired of offering the same old soda, water and tea to your guests? Wishing you had something extra special to toast the new baby or celebrate a big family milestone? Consider Kristian Regale this year! Their sparkling juices are made from original Swedish family recipes and come in eight beautifully-packaged flavors.

Kristian Regale sent us this beautiful assortment of six bottles to try in our home: peach, black current, apple, pomegranate-apple, pear and lingonberry-apple.
The weekend our package arrived, we had lots of company over and I was eager to break open the bottles, which I had chilled in the fridge, and see what everyone thought. Even the children got to sample the light and fruity beverages in their own special "wine" glasses. Out of the six flavors we tried, all were great, but Pear and Pomegranate-Apple seemed to be the standout choices. Pear is crisp and light, with just the right amount of sweetness. Pomegranate-Apple is bolder with a tangy but very pleasant kind of sweetness. The deep coral color is quite attractive when served in a clear glass.

Besides the tasty flavors, we also liked that the Kristian Regale juices are not heavily carbonated or sweetened like soft drinks. The bubbles are "fine" and very light - just enough to give the beverage a lift, but not enough to overwhelm or create a lot of heavy fizz.

The Kristian Regale juices truly do add sparkle to your table!
I am looking forward to serving Kristian Regale at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and love that everyone in the family will get to enjoy them.

Kristian Regale sparkling juices are 100% all-natural, gluten free and caffeine-free, and contain 100 calories or less per 8 oz. serving. No need to worry about high fructose corn syrup or preservatives, either.

You can find Kristian Regale at select retailers in your state, or online at Amazon.com. I encourage you to "like" Kristian Regale on Facebook and become a Twitter follower as well!

Are you ready for a Giveaway?
One Lucky Reader Will Receive the Same 6 Flavors of Delicious Kristian Regale Sparkling Juice to Review (peach, black current, apple, pomegranate-apple, pear and lingonberry-apple)!

Renovate Your Home At Low Prices With Floor & Decor

Our flooring
I love decorating our home and trying out new Do-It-Yourself ideas. Our current home was quite a project for me when we moved in and I was so excited to get started. With three stories to decorate, this was no easy task and something that took us two years to do! The first thing we did was put in a marble countertop and installed beautiful wooden cabinets for the kitchen. Then we added a beautiful rug to the living room to give it more color. The entire house is wooden, so the deeper, darker blues and browns look perfect. Floor and Decor has the best selection in hardwood and I love all of the options. Out of the entire house, I have to say that my favorite renovation that I am most proud would have to be the basement. We used a Natural Maple Solid Hardwood for our home and have been so happy with that decision. It is so beautiful and, on Floor and Decor, it is only $2.99 a square foot.
The boys spend a great deal of time playing on the rug in our living room, which fits perfectly with the rest of our decor!
The basement was the usual cement structure until it was decorated. It now has a bedroom, bathroom and our "playroom" complete with a tv, couch and an air hockey table. One of the best things we did was add carpeting to the basement. When we moved in, Liam was still a baby and was crawling around. The upstairs hardwood flooring was not at all kid-friendly, so we spend a great deal of time downstairs in the basement. Being someone who likes to find great deals, we definitely did our research for products. There were no buying sprees for us. We had to calculate every cent. Looking online, I found Floor and Decor to be a great affordable option for low price flooring! The hardwood flooring actually starts at $1.79 per square foot, which is amazing.
A great picture of the boys showing part of our new cabinets and the beautiful hardwood we chose!
One of the tricks I learned for our walls was that we didn't have to paint them to decorate. Instead, we used wall decals for the basement for the kids' rooms. We found hand-painted decals that look absolutely amazing, even on the hardwood walls. We have a vehicle theme throughout the their rooms and the basement, which was not only easy, but complementary to the areas. I'll definitely use decals again in the future!
Check out the Floor and Decor store! It has to be huge to house their huge selection of  flooring and decor. I could have the best time in there!

Now that we have our home all fixed up, we are selling it and moving to the next house to renovate and decorate! I have to say that after all of my hard work, I hate to see it go, but I will be happy for someone else to enjoy it. We ended up adding porcelain, ceramic, stone, tile, wood and laminate to the cabin in different rooms to fit to decor in each space. The chimney is actually made of stone, giving the living room another great "in the mountains" feel to the cabin and it is also one of my favorite features.

Are you renovating your home in the near future! There are three things I suggest before getting started:

1. Have a plan! Note what you have in mind for each room and don't stray from the plan unless you find something you just have to purchase.
2. Do your research. Take a look at Floor and Decor because we are very impressed with their selection.
3. Don't take on too much at once. You may have a huge plan, but conquer one thing at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself or it will end up a project that is never finished.

Be sure to check out Floor & Decor on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest!

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Floor and Decor. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Holiday Gift Guide" JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline

banner
Wow – I can’t believe it’s already November! And I am so excited to share with you some awesome products that would make perfect Christmas gifts for those special people in your life. So let’s hop to it (pun intended, hehe).
As the weather continues to get colder opportunities to get the kids outside to burn off energy become less and less so I am left with a four year old and two year old with tons of energy but nothing to do with it short of running around the house like crazy little monkeys. And so I needed a product that would get them off the couch and moving to help burn off all that energy – where do they get it anyhow? Hehe. When I found the JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline I knew that both of my munchkins would absolutely love it.
Dustin and I worked together to assemble the trampoline and it was rather easy. In about a half hour or so the kids were ready to jump.
IMG_4966IMG_4972
The JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline is constructed with sturdy durable steel frame and is recommended for children ages two to five years – not to exceed 80 pounds. I especially like the handlebars with rubber grips which help provide stability so that Alleigh and Kaelyn can work on their balance and motor skills. The jumping surface is held in place by three bungee cords (unlike springs on full size trampolines) which make for a soft gentle bounce. Plus the jumping surface is only 12 inches off the ground so if your little one would take a tumble their closer to the floor than if sitting on the couch.
IMG_5543IMG_5537
The JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline also comes with the DVD “Where is Mr. Fuzzy?” that features RompyRoo an adorable, engaging, entertaining, and educational kangaroo – Kaelyn absolutely loves him – that encourages IMG_5557kids to get hopping. The one and only complaint I have is that when RompyRoo counts instead of saying 11,12,13… he says 10 1, 10 2, 10 3. At the beginning of the DVD it explains they do this because it is easier for little kids to count this way, but Alleigh and Kaelyn already know how to count properly so I am afraid this may confuse them. Otherwise the videos are great and Alleigh especially likes the exercise instructions in the video where an adult explains and shows how to do a variety of exercises. To keep the videos fresh JumpSport recently rolled out two new RompyRoo adventures including “Let the Games Begin!” and “The Grand Finale!” WeIMG_5560 chose to play the DVD’s on our television, but the JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline also comes with a tablet mount which will fit tablet devices up to 10” tall and is compatible with iPad, Kindles, Nooks, and more. Plus it has an adjustable viewing angle and secure locking mechanism. Since we chose not to use the tablet mount we decided not to install it, but it simply attaches by screwing on between the handle bars.
IMG_5541
My girls both love jumping on their JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline and ask to have the DVD’s put on all the time. Though even without the DVD’s I see them hop on and jump throughout the day. I love that they are getting their energy out and having fun exercising at the same time. Check out this video of Kaelyn having a ball while jumping and watching RompyRoo.

Plus the best part is you can get the JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline, Tablet Mount, and “Where is Mr. Fuzzy?” DVD for only $129.95! Not only will your kids love this Christmas gift, but they will be able to use it for many years and get that much needed exercise when their not able to get outside on rainy or cold days. And guess what? One lucky winner is going to win their very own JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline. To enter fill out the Rafflecopter entry form below – good luck!!

Holiday Gift Guide Event: Knocked-Up Fitness DVD's Review/Giveaway

One thing I wish I would have done while pregnant with my daughter was work out. I've never been too great at keeping up with a workout,I usually get bored, or like what happened just recently, Netflix took the workout videos off. This time around, as we're trying to conceive, I've really been starting to look at different work out videos and many of them have been Prenatal workouts. I want to make sure that I get my chance to work out and stay extra-healthy this time around!

I've heard that while you are pregnant you can continue working out if you're able. Well I decided it was time to find a workout that I could do before and throughout a future pregnancy.

So when I got the opportunity to review the Knocked-Up Fitness DVD's I was super excited. These DVD's were not what I was expecting. Honestly, I was thinking that I could just fly through these workouts and I would be able to do this easily. I mean, the lady doing them is very pregnant, so I should have no problem right?

I was wrong!

These Fitness DVD's are no joke and are awesome. I got the best workout I've every had. I loved that you were given tips as well as Beginner Advanced moves, which was super helpful.

One thing I really enjoyed was using the Thera Band. I've never used one before and was a little skeptical at first, but it was great. I've been trying to do these work outs as often as I can, and honestly am so glad I got the chance to review them. I look forward to continuing use with any future pregnancies, if I'm able!

Along with these Fitness DVD's, I was sent 6 simple tips to ensure your baby arrives as healthy as possible.

1. Eat nutritiously and make sure you take your vitamins! Pregnant women should adhere to a healthy diet that includes daily servings of whole grains, lean protein, and fruits and vegetables. A diet filled with the right foods can help you avoid conditions such as gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia.

2. Avoid toxins and chemicals that may harm your baby, including many common household solvents and cleaning agents. If you must use these chemicals, make sure the room is well ventilated and wear appropriate clothing to protect your skin.

3. Protect your baby from radiation. These days it seems nearly impossible to avoid the radiation that comes from common technology like iPads, cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices, but attention has recently been brought to the harmful effects of these products on a fetus. Taking the precaution of shielding against radiation exposure throughout pregnancy can significantly lower the health risk. Belly Armor products use RadiaShield® technology, which is integrated with basic maternity wear and accessories, to shield more than 99 percent of radiation, making every day tasks safer for mom and her growing baby.

4. Drink water. It is important for pregnant women to drink enough water to maintain proper circulation. Try to drink several full glasses of water per day to help you stay hydrated. This is especially important during times of excessive heat.

5. Keep Your Body and Mind Fit. Maintaining a regular exercise routine two or three times a week and eating wisely throughout pregnancy can help you stay healthy and decrease some common discomforts, such as backaches and fatigue. Pilates is known to be the safest and most effective type of exercise during pregnancy as it helps to strengthen your core, which makes for an easier labor and delivery. Try Knocked-Up Fitness DVDs with pilates master Erica Ziel!

6. Set goals and track your progress. Use the Use the Mama2b Fitbook to ensure an active and healthy pregnancy. The Mama2b Fitbook is a notebook that includes a guide to determine a goal for healthy baby weight gain, tips for a fit pregnancy, and power pregnancy foods to feed a growing baby bump.

What exercise routines do you have during pregnancy?

Kmart Friends & Family Sale This Sunday, November 4th

We have always been huge Kmart fans. I remember shopping as a kid with my Grandma and she'd run every time the blue light started flashing for a sale. Now that I'm older an can appreciate a good sale myself, I realize why she loved Kmart so much. They always have great deals going on, especially around the holidays.

Speaking of sales, this Sunday, November 4th, Kmart will have a Friends & Family Day Sale! What does this mean? You can receive 10% off ALL sale, regular and clearance price merchandise with a coupon! Just click here to print out your coupons and get ready to shop.

Now is the time to shop for holiday presents. I love the holidays, but I am not a fan of long lines and crowded stores. In the past I have admittedly procrastinated and am always kicking myself on Christmas Eve trying to get everything ready. Not this year, though! I am going to be at Kmart this weekend stocking up on toys for the kids. They have already been asking about Santa and have not hesitated to start requesting toys, so I have a pretty good list of items to buy this year.

Liam is very much a Chuggington Choo Choo fan and I am definitely going to look at the sets at Kmart. Josiah, on the other hand, loves action figures. This year I'll have the presents purchased, wrapped and under our tree early!

What about you? Will you get a head start on your holiday shopping at the Kmart Friends & Family Sale this Sunday? Maybe I'll see you there!
