About Rachelle:
While
growing up, Rachelle learned all there is to know about gardening and
producing her own food. During the economic downturn she recognized the
need to share her insight with others in her community. From there, Feed the Need Garden
was born, a non-profit with the mission “to end hunger locally by
teaching those in need how to grow and preserve their own food.”
Rachelle organizes local seminars where she educates those willing to
learn her craft. In addition, Rachelle has donated a plot of her very
own land to create what she calls, “the teaching garden,” where she
invites locals to learn best practices first hand.

We are active in a local HIV/AIDS charity called OARS, which is the only charity of it's kind that is 100% free to patients. They provide them with their regular healthcare and check-ups, all of their medicines and they provide community education events free of charge as well.

We donate our old/outgrown clothing to local children's homes. I would also love to plant my own garden but I don't know that anything will survive here other than cotton and corn! LOL

I need to do a MUCH better job living more natural.I've been generous in my community, I volunteer for March of Dimes, donated stuffed animals to women's shelters, and donated my wedding dress to an organization that makes burial outfits for stillborn babies.
In terms of living more natural and green, I try to walk instead of drive and use less disposable products

My husband is in the AF and volunteers for all kinds of different activities. My favorite so far is when we volunteered to help bring a house up to city codes that housed recovering alcohol and drug addicts. I have never met more thankful individuals in my life. In the future I would like to live more green...cloth diaper, wipes, and grow my own garden.
My husband currently volunteers at a local hospital and I am working with a local food bank to set up a way that my kids and I can help them on a regular basis.

I plan on volunteering in our neighborhood community garden next year. We all take turns weeding and watering and we give much of the food to our local food bank.
My kids are outdoor kids so we are always active and exploring nature. Our give back project this summer is to xeroscape parts of the yard for those who are older or who cannot tend to the grassy areas. It has been FUN!
We donate what we can. Also try to support local business
I shop at our local farmer's market
I volunteer at my kids school and I donate our unused stuff to charity.
