Today was the first day I could actually see my belly move when Baby Girl kicked – Dilly was able to feel her and the look on her face was absolutely priceless. She is getting so excited for her baby sister to arrive and any time a package arrives in the mail that is for Baby Girl she gets just as excited as me! And so when I opened a package from Wordsation that contained the most adorable onesie she exclaimed “Ohhhh that’s so cute for {insert Baby Girl’s real name}!!!”
Wordsation takes onesies to a whole new level. They do this by finding artist’s from all over the world to create original artwork for their decorated onesies. Every month new designs are available which can be purchased individually or in year long subscriptions. The year long subscriptions work by shipping out a newborn onesie immediately, a 6 month onesie four months later and a 12 month onesie four months after that. And just let me say these are truly unique onesies – you won’t find anything like them in a local store.
There are currently 8 different collections available and I chose the blowfish design in the Sea Creatures collection designed by Joel Nakamura. For some reason that adorable blow fish just makes me smile and reminds me of the big eyes that Sugar had as a baby which are still big and super expressive now, hehe. Nakamura is an award-winning artist who is known for his unique style – a blend of folk art and sophisticated iconography rendered in a neo-primitive technique. The entire collection also includes a lobster and octopus – a very gender neutral fun collection.
There are so many other cute choices as well… here are just a few.
You also have the option of choosing a 100% cotton rib knit onesie or 100% organic cotton rib knit onesie. Individual onesies can be purchased for $25 or a year long subscription can be purchased for $75. And I will be honest I know that $25 may sound pricey to some people for a onesie, but the thing to remember is that these are actually works of art that your little one can wear that has been designed by amazing artists. A subscription would make a fun baby shower gift that keeps giving all through the year – how fun! I seriously can not wait for Baby Girl to get here so she can rock her blowfish onesie, hehe.
