About a month ago, I was looking around online and found a website called Mascot Books, a website dedicated to helping others self-publish their children's book ideas! The idea for Mascot Books first began in 2003, when Naren, the co-founder, and his family attended a Virginia Tech game. Their daughter absolutely loved the HokieBird so, on the way home, they came up with ideas for the book and decided to publish it!
As you can imagine, when writing a book, their are many obstacles! Besides licensing, you must know about advertising, sales, and much more. Narin and his wife, Aimee, learned the ins and outs to book publishing, producing 44 titles in just one year! Mascot books then extended their business to include the Mascot Books Author's Program, helping others make their children's book ideas and rough drafts become a reality. In addition, they offer a school fundraising program, a unique way to raise money for your school, group, or club!
Do you have a children's book idea? My husband has always wanted to write a children's book and has scribbled ideas in his notebook, but never thought it could happen. Where do you even begin? Plus, we definitely can't draw! It just seemed an unrealistic idea until I found Mascot Books. Each member of the team is knowledgeable and ready to help put your book together just the way you want it. From designers and illustrators, to sales and advertisement, Mascot Books has you covered. With their contacts and team, you will be ahead of the game from the very beginning!
