Educational Fun For Kids With the VTech InnoTab 2 (Review)

In our home, I'm pretty strict about the types of games and electronics allowed at our house. Most games and gaming systems out there aren't really aimed at education, but the new VTech MobiGo 2 we reviewed last month and the VTech Innotab 2 are great educational systems for kids!

Josiah is always wanting to play on my tablet and I've wanted to get him something similar, but with educational aspects. The VTech InnoTab 2 is the perfect solution and I finally have my tablet back all for myself. The new Innotab 2 has many new features in comparison to the original Innotab that make it better than ever. I couldn't wait for Josiah to receive this one and, sure enough, he absolutely loves it.

One of Josiah's favorite aspects of Mama's tablet is taking pictures and now he can do it, too, with the InnoTab 2's built-in digital photo and video camera that rotates so you can take photos and videos of yours and of others! In the picture below, you can see how easily the camera rotates.
In the picture above you can also see the rubberized edges to help kids grip so they don't drop it. Paired with some of the other InnoTab 2 accessories, including the case, it can withstand much more play. I know my kids are always dropping toys and they end up breaking. I definitely don't want that to happen with the InnoTab 2! I can tell just by holding it just how durable it is.

There also hundreds of educational apps to download, which gives kids a huge variety! In this picture you can see some of them and there are many on sale or even free!
Just like the MobiGo 2, you can use the Learning Lodge to purchase apps and, my favorite part, you can keep up with your child's progress. As they improve their skills, the Learning Lodge takes notes, so you know how they are doing. Josiah has been working on his alphabet and will start learning to read very soon. This is something the InnoTab will be great for, with animated e-books, and I can keep up with his progress!  Suitable for 3-9 years, both of the kids can enjoy playing with it, too. This is an item that will receive much play over the next years considering Liam just turned 3 and Josiah is 5.

Additional Features Include a video player, 2Gb onboard memory and an SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB, a microphone and much, much more! I just cannot say enough about the awesome InnoTab 2! This would make a perfect gift, especially for the upcoming holidays, and retailing at only $79.99 it is so affordable! I suggest getting a bundle of 4AA lithium batteries because kids will constantly want to play. It's best to be prepared!

VTech MobiGo 2 Review - Portable Educational Fun

I love finding fun and educational toys for our children, but as my children get older, finding items that will hold attention are much harder to find. This is why I was excited to review the new VTech MobiGo 2! My niece has the MobiGo and loves it, so when I heard about the new one, we couldn't wait to try it for ourselves.
The MobiGo 2 has games and features that are great for ages 3 to 8 years of age, which is great because all the kids can get something educational from it. This great handheld learning system offers a variety of ways for children to learn and have fun while doing so! There are three games already on the MobiGo 2 and you can download many more via the Learning Lodge, which can be easily downloaded onto your computer.
The games and apps teach great skills, including math, vocabulary, spelling, reading, logic, drawing and more! These are perfect for both of my boys who are learning basic skills. Liam is about to turn three and Josiah is five, so they have really enjoyed the games we have. I think their favorite is the Hamster Highway so far, which teaches coordination and numbers.
About to play Hamster Highway!
The Shooting Gallery is one that Josiah also enjoys and it's been great since it goes along what we are learning in his studies. It teaches letters and, since the MobiGo 2 has a QWERTY keyboard, he learns the keyboard layout, too. The game starts out easy so kids can grasp the concepts and gets harder as they progress.

We have only downloaded one game so far, but there are many more games and e-books from which to choose on the Learning Lodge, all for very low prices. Plus, you can find games at stores, too. Josiah has expressed interest in the Scooby Doo and Jake and the Neverland Pirates games for Christmas. I am very excited that he is showing interest in the MobiGo 2 and think this will be a great activity for him in between studying and school. Since we are homeschooling this year, I think this will definitely add to his experience in an educational and fun way, especially when he starts reading in a month or two. I can't wait!

In addition to the games and e-books, the MobiGo 2 also has a photo album, photo viewer art studio and coloring book. Liam has particularly enjoyed the art studio and coloring book since they are easier. Using a touchscreen is also easy for him and I can tell he has enjoyed playing games just like a big boy.
Not only do the kids getting something fun and educational from the MobiGo 2. Parents can keep up with their children's progress via the Learning Lodge. When we first started, I made accounts for the children so they can play under their own names and I can see how far they have gotten on the games. This will give ma a good idea of how they are progressing with their studies, too.

So, needless to say, the MobiGo2 has been a huge hit in our house and we've already gone through several batteries. I think I am just as excited as the kids when we get new games to try out and it will be hard to wait until Christmas to buy Josiah the games he wants. I may just have to spoil him further and buy one ahead of time.

Have you tried the MobiGo 2 yet?
This would make a great present for the upcoming holidays and/or for a birthday!

Make Mama Happy This Mother's Day with the VTech Multitasking Phone System LS6475-3

Okay, a lot of things have changed since I was a teenager, but there is one thing that remains the same: I still LOVE to talk on the phone. We live far away from my parents and we all know absence makes the heart grow fonder. I feel like I'm on the phone with my mom 12 hours of the day. I constantly have to get off of the phone to do something and then call her back, which is just very frustrating. The problem being that I either have to break my neck holding it sideways to balance the phone or just sit on the couch and talk. Okay, I don't mind sitting on the couch, but if I did that all the time nothing would ever get done! Plus, I've made the mistake of talking on the phone while washing dishes before and the phone didn't make it after falling into the soapy water. Poor phone!

This Mother's Day, I have the perfect gift idea for a Mama who is always on the go and very busy around the house. What? The VTech Multitasking Phone System LS6475-3 has so many features that I really couldn't wait to receive one and try it out. The system comes with two cordless handsets as well as a voice mail, a headset, Push-to-Talk and HD Audio! This phone system pretty much has everything I would want and more.

My favorite feature of the VTech Multitasking Phone System LS6475-3 is the headset. I've never owned a phone that had a headset and it is absolutely awesome! I am able to talk and hear the other person clearly while still cleaning dishes and doing other tasks around the house. With my blog, I often communicate with other businesses via phone calls and I have needed something like this for a while. I'm able to talk business while sitting in the floor playing with my kids! I also love that the phone has a great range, so I can even go outside with the kids (up to 500 feet) and talk on the phone while they are playing. The phones I've had in the past could barely work across the house.
On the phone talking while folding clothes and holding my little boy! Now this is the life!
Click here to read more about the VTech LS6475-3 Multitasking system. There are many other features that make this such a great phone, including that it is Energy Star compliant, which means it is energy efficient. You can purchase it for only $99.95 and free shipping! For all of the features this phone has, that is such a great deal. Make your Mama happy and buy her this phone. Now that I've told mine about my new phone, she really wants one, too, so I may just have to buy one for her.
