After Liam was born 2 years ago, I made the decision to start blogging. Little did I know how much fun it would be and all the little intricate details involved. Slowly, I've turned by blog into more than just a place to write about family, as I originally intended. Using marketing techniques, I've been able to grow from just another blog to my own personal brand and company.

How can you successfully market yourself? The main goal is to stand out and make yourself and business recognized. Yes, you can do this with business cards, road signs and local advertisement, but that type of advertisement is limited to a local reach. However, when you take your business to the internet, it seems the possibilities are limitless and there are no boundaries. Internet marketing is the most innovative way to advertise a company these days and recommended for any business who wishes to grow and succeed. With billions of people worldwide having internet access, it is the quickest and easiest way to spread the word about a business. It really is amazing how quickly news can spread from one person or one country to another!

I look back at the days of dial-up internet service and can see just how far we have come over the years. Although my own business is small, it has become something I never thought imaginable. The internet and the social media outlets available make my job much easier and, in the long run, less expensive than other types of marketing. My business would not be what it is today without internet marketing, which is why I highly recommend it for other businesses.

Just last month I participated in my very first parenting expo. It was a very exciting experience and I learned a great deal. Now I feel much more prepared for what's in store next time and I know what's needed to adequately advertise my business. The most valuable lesson I learned was the importance of providing promotional items that people are most likely to use. You don't want to give them something they will just throw away or look at once a year, right?

Well, I just recently came across a great online store called GoPromos.com and found a huge amount of perfect promotional items, such as promo mugs. That is perfect for advertisement because everyone needs a coffee mug, water bottle, or travel mug. Plus, people get excited to receive nice items like this. Another great item would be custom notepads! Everyone uses note pads and sticky pads. I know I use them on a daily basis to make grocery lists and jot notes.
