Cars 2 Review & Fun Package Giveaway Ends 6/28

My son loves cars and especially loves the movie Cars! As soon as he saw the preview for Cars 2, I knew we'd be there. We were invited to attend an advanced screening of Cars 2 on Saturday at Atlantic Station in Atlanta. We were very lucky to be able to attend an early viewing this weekend and boy was it something.

Here's a little background for the new Cars 2 movie:

When star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy)

head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix, Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage!

My Thoughts

Going into the theater, I was expecting the usual take on sequels with their similar plots and an overall feeling of Déjà vu throughout the film. However, Cars 2 greatly exceeded my preconceived notions! Cars 2 basically took a few of the favorite characters and weaved them into an animated James Bond film. You are immediately drawn in from the very beginning and, with one action sequence after another, the movie is over before you know it!

Taking Josiah was the ultimate challenge since he is 4 years old and has a limited attention span. Cars 2 passed with flying colors, as he sat, watching intently throughout the film and wasn't asking to go until the very end. We saw the 3-D version and it was amazing. I've seen other 3-D movies in the past where you could barely tell a difference, but there were parts where I could swear the cars were soaring in the air. Josiah even got scared a few times and kept asking why the cars were popping out at him. Poor boy!

Overall, this is a great movie for the entire family. The kids will love it and there are several jokes and references just for the older viewers. It's a Must See Film of the Summer!!
